Friendship Villages of St. Louis
Where You Can Live Life Carefree!

Friendship Village has become a recognized leader in senior living during their 40 years. Their sound business practices and visionary approach continue to support the increasing need for flexibility critical to success in serving this expanding segment of modern society.

Friendship Village is a not-for-profit organization, rooted in Christian principles. “Since its beginning, our communities have been led by a local Board of Directors who give their time and expertise to assure our residents receive high quality programs. Our staff has grown over the years to support all the amenities and health services desired by today’s seniors – all within the lifestyle they enjoy and deserve,” reports Carmen Worley, Community Outreach Director.

Friendship Village has two communities, Friendship Village Sunset Hills and Friendship Village Chesterfield. The Sunset Hills campus opened in 1978, has approximately 375 residences and sits on 52 acres, near the southwest intersection of I-270 and Hwy 30 (Gravois.) The Chesterfield campus opened in 1975, has about 330 residences and is located on 34 acres near Faust Park.

Friendship Village is a LifeCare® Community
“We are a Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC). This means we provide a full continuum of on-site options right on the campus: maintenance-free independent living; assisted living; recuperative care; memory care; and skilled nursing.”

In addition, Friendship Village is a LifeCare® community, meaning they can provide a consistent and predictable rate of cost across all levels of care and service. Management by Life Care Services™, an industry leader across the country, also sets Friendship Village apart No other community in the area offers the genuine LifeCare® advantage. It provides you with a lifetime of unlimited days of quality, long-term health care within a familiar setting at essentially the same monthly fee throughout. This assures residents will receive quality health care at an established cost with no surprises. It's the Village’s commitment to the lifestyle you want today with the promise of a secure tomorrow.

By moving to Friendship Village, residents are choosing an option that protects them and their family. It delivers a full continuum of quality, long-term health care in a familiar setting at a significant savings when compared to other types of senior communities or health care options so you never have to leave due to health issues.

The continuum of care begins with independent living and progresses to onsite assisted living and to skilled nursing care. LifeCare® takes you smoothly through each level, if necessary, with gentle transitions. You can always remain in the welcoming surroundings you have grown accustomed to with familiar neighbors and staff.

Friendship Village is Affordable
Your total monthly living expenses at the Village will likely be approximately the same as – if not less than – what you are spending in your current house, and makes budgeting much easier. You have the assurance of knowing you will receive quality health care at an established cost with no surprises. A one-time entrance payment ensures you’ll receive all the amenities, programs and unlimited care as long as you may need it. The monthly fee covers the cost of 24-hour skilled nursing care, at virtually the same cost as Independent Living. (Two additional meals per day and ancillary medical costs are the only added fees.)

This program is so all-inclusive, it can actually help you contain your retirement costs!

Financial Options
You have a choice of several smart financial options to suit your personal needs. You may decide upon a Return-of-Capital Plan, which refunds either 90% or 50% of your entrance fee to you or your estate, no matter how long you live at the community. You can also choose a Traditional Plan – which includes a lower entrance fee.

There are also tax benefits to living in a LifeCare community. A significant portion of your monthly fees each year may be claimed as a medical expense. Consult with your tax professional on how this can affect your taxes.

Helping Residents Stay Healthy and Active
“Our retirement community is overflowing with ways for residents to stay healthy and active.” Wellness experts and on-site services encourage a vibrant, engaging lifestyle that encompasses eight dimensions:

Physical Vocational
Spiritual Social
Emotional Environmental
Intellectual Health Services

Plus, unlike other St. Louis retirement communities, residents have access to their on-site Village Care Center whenever needed, for as long as needed, at virtually no increase in their monthly fee.

Right at Home in Sunset Hills
Carmen was raised in Sunset Hills and graduated from Lindbergh High School. She has two sons. Tripp, 18, is a freshman at Southern Methodist University in Dallas. “He’s working on a double major, business management and political science. Once he completes those, he plans to earn a law degree. Davis is my youngest son. He is 14 and is an eighth grader at Westminster Christian Academy.”

Her parents recently became residents of the Village. “They love their villa and all the amenities available to them here.”

Kirkwood-Des Peres Area Chamber of Commerce
Carmen is a member of numerous area chambers. “I appreciate not only the professionalism but also the friendliness of the Kirkwood-Des Peres Area Chamber of Commerce. It’s really a very welcoming group. The members represent a wide variety of area businesses, from large corporations to ‘mom and pop’ shops and the meetings give us a chance to interact with all of them.

“This Chamber knows its purpose and is good at promoting area businesses. Their events are always very well done, they are very responsive and their staff is a thorough and professional group.

“They offer really quality programs – it’s obvious that they put a lot of thought and planning into these and I really appreciate their efforts.”

See for Yourself
“Friendship Village Sunset Hills is often described as ‘like living on a cruise ship’ or ‘living in a luxury resort.’ Residents love the food served at all the restaurants; the personal trainer; the security; the convenience of simply locking their door as they leave for vacation; the swimming pool; the new clubhouse, transportation – the list goes on.”
