About Eureka Contracting
“When we opened in August 2012, I brought 30 years of insurance and contracting business experience with me. In addition, I am a union carpenter, so I was able to utilize all these skills and knowledge in my firm. Members of our team have strong marketing and sales backgrounds as well as hands-on experience in putting on roofs. They also bring their experience to keep business growing,” reports Rick.

Thanks to Eureka Contracting team’s expertise and personal touch, which involves keeping customers advised of every step, these local men have become known for providing great products and outstanding customer service and the result has been steady growth. ”Everybody who works for me likes and takes pride in what they do and each gives unwavering attention to details.”

“We are located in beautiful Eureka, west of Kirkwood and do roofing, siding, windows, soffits, fascia, gutters, pretty much anything outside. We work on residential, commercial, industrial buildings and churches.”

Eureka Contracting is a SureCoat Systems Contractor
“SureCoat is a wonderful product!"

“We primarily do insurance work on residences following wind and hail but we also have a commercial roof covering division. With SureCoat, we can actually coat the roof with a polymer resin without tearing the old roof off and make a seamless white roof. It’s cost effective, eliminating the need for roof replacement."

“And we don’t have to tear off the existing roof an old, tired roof and they can extend that roof by 10 years. It was originally made for wharfs, piers and buoys in the ocean. It doesn't chip, crack, fade, scratch, or peel and meets all ecological impact standards. SureCoat has earned the EPAs Energy Star and it has 86% reflectivity so the heat just bounces off."

“The product is applied with a paint roller – three layers of the same material are applied with a polymesh material imbedded into the first layer which forms a monolithic polymer resin, elastomeric based roof. It is a sustainable solution for commercial properties with flat and low-sloping roofs!"

Last year we coated the Webster Groves Subaru dealership 12,000 sf roof and completely stopped the leaks that had been ongoing for 9 years. We treated a couple of industrial buildings in Pacific with metal roofs and were able to stop all the leaks they had been experiencing for the last six years.

“Proper preparation and application is critical to the effectiveness of SureCoat. It’s a multi-step process but only effective when spending the time to do it right. It’s a renewable roof and it comes with a 10 year warranty and can be renewed 9 years after it’s applied when you have it re-coated the warranty is extended for an additional 10 years."

“This is a fine product for older, historic structures. We’ve done some homes in the Soulard area where we were able to put it over multi-layers of tar on the flat top roofs and stop the leaks. Another plus of using SureCoat is removal of the tar layers would involve sacrificing brick-parapet extensions. We are able to adhere the polymer resin based material to the brick, retaining the character of the building."

“It can also be used on abandoned strip malls because it absolutely seals the roof and keeps it from leaking. If you save the roof, you save the building!”

Rick spent eight years in the Navy, four active. He had two tours “half way around the world” on the USS Enterprise. He went to numerous ports of call including Hawaii, the Philippines, Singapore, Hong Kong, Africa, Tasmania and Australia. Rick is the father of three “really good kids.” They are grown children, one daughter and two sons. His oldest son currently serves in the Navy.

He is enjoying his membership in the Kirkwood-Des Peres Area Chamber of Commerce. “You’re surrounded by a bunch of really savvy and smart business people here. They’re friendly, very welcoming and very interested in what you do.

“We’ve had some great networking opportunities through the Chamber. It’s been mutually beneficial for us. Along with meeting good people, we have been hired by several members to work on their homes."

“We’re members of the Eureka Chamber too. They are business oriented as well.”
