Kirkwood Meet the Finalists for Kirkwood Chief of Police

A reception will be held at 5:30 p.m., on Friday, August 25, at Kirkwood City Hall in the Council Chambers. This is open to the public for anyone wishing to meet the finalists for the City of Kirkwood Chief of Police. Comment cards will be available for anyone wishing to leave comments about one or more of the candidates, and these will be forwarded to the Chief Administrative Officer.

The five long-time police department professionals are Daniel Busken, Nicholas Gailius, Stephen Monticelli, Brian Murphy, and Ed Nestor. Busken is the Chief of Police in Greenville, Texas; Gailius is the Chief of Police in Fairview Heights, Illinois; Monticelli serves as Chief of Police for Harrisonburg, Virginia; Murphy is a Police Captain with the City of Kirkwood; and Nestor is the Assistant Chief of Police for the City of Chesterfield, Missouri.

The City had assistance from Affion Public with the recruitment and received 59 applicants. The five finalists will be in Kirkwood on August 24 and 25 for interviews with Chief Administrative Officer Russ Hawes and a panel of department heads.

Former Kirkwood Police Chief Jack Plummer retired from the City on June 1, 2017.
